Thon Tha trekking tour will bring you to a perfect place with wonderful scienery in Ha Giang, Vietnam. With this trekking tour you will discover all the secrets of the beautiful Ha Giang region with a local guide. Far away from the crowds, this tour is a perfect combination of trek and culture while visiting the hill tribes’ villages of Ha Giang.

To grasp a full authentic experience, stay at a homestay in a traditional Vietnamese Tay home. Learn and participate in the village life and truly feel the warmth and hospitality of the local people. Explore the secret spots we will take you to, and make this a journey you will never forget. 

• Day 1: Hanoi – Ha Giang

  There are several buses that you can take from Hanoi to Ha Giang, either day bus or night bus. The bus does not include in the package but we can help to arrange. You’ll then check-in to your homestay in nearby Thon Tha Village and have dinner/breakfast with your hosts.

• Day 2: Thon Tha – Lung Vai – Ha Thanh

  You’ll start the day at about 8AM with a local breakfast and get to meet your local guide. The trek will then commence, heading through terraced rice fields and Tay villages, where you will meet and talk with locals. When you arrive at Lùng Vai village of the Coin Dao people you’ll have a picnic lunch (or if possible, join a Dao family for a meal). After a break, you will then trek to Ha Thanh village, famous for its waterfall. You’ll then finish this trekking loop back at the homestay in Thon Tha Village where you will again enjoy dinner with your hosts.

• Day 3: Thon Tha – Khuoi Mi – Thon Tha

  This morning you can join the locals if you wish, helping them with their daily duties, like feeding the animals, cleaning the house, gardening or preparing breakfast. After breakfast, you’ll take a different route, trekking through the valley and then up the mountain linking Thon Tha and Khuoi My. Your local guide will tell you some local stories about the unique Dao Ao Dai culture. You’ll visit the Khuoi My village, located in the foot of the highest mountain in Northeast Vietnam. Here you’ll enjoy a picnic lunch en route, or again if possible, have lunch with a local family. After a short rest you’ll continue trekking and head back to Thon Tha village. If you like you can request a performance of a traditional culture show (Fee not included in tour).

  After your last meal with your hosts, you’ll take the night bus back to Hanoi.
